The organisers of the Creative Mile are making a final call for any artists and makers who want to participate this year.
Brentford’s Art Trail is a three-day arts festival from Friday 29 August to Sunday 31 August which showcases Brentford's unique venues, riverside location and the creatives working in the town. All venues are free to access including The Musical Museum and Boston Manor House which joins the festival this year thanks to an offer from Hounslow Council.
‘Neighbourhood’ is the theme the fifth ever Creative Mile and this will be interpreted by artists, makers, poets, and musicians with over 100 already signed up to take part.
Artists and creatives that wish to participate have until Sunday 15 June to register via the website. All forms of creativity are welcome.
Councillor Salman Shaheen, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Public Spaces at Hounslow Council, said, “As a Brentford resident and the Cabinet Member for Culture, I am delighted that we can help fund Brentford’s fifth Creative Mile event and offer the iconic Boston Manor House as a venue. As a borough, we have a proud history of supporting the creative industries to flourish and this event will certainly showcase the very best local talent. I encourage residents and visitors from far and wide to come along and discover what the artists, creatives and musicians have to offer.”
Brentford based artist Mr Mr Pearce and founder of Creative Mile added, "Creative Mile has always been the town working together to put a spotlight on what is already here. The weekend provides an opportunity for artists and other creatives to show their work to a large audience in one weekend. We appreciate the ongoing support of Hounslow Council in providing a grant to help us deliver this event.”
The Creative Mile Youth Art Competition is currently open, visit the website for more information.
