Councillor Tells Network Rail 'You Missed a Bit'
Contractors return to finish painting footbridge at by Strand on the Green

Network Rail has been forced to sent contractors back to Chiswick to paint a section of the footbridge fencing that was missed when it was installed.
Shortly after the bridge near Strand on the Green Schools was finally reopened, the Green party Chiswick Riverside councillor Rick Rowe spotted that the raised safety railing on one side of the bridge at Regent Street had not been painted. He said the same railing on the other side had been painted green and looked great, but the unpainted section was already starting to corrode.
Network Rail sent a team to finish the job this Tuesday (15 September). It was already planning to return for finishing works on the recently reopened footbridge at Chiswick station. The project to extend the lifespan of the bridge will require some night time working at the site with cutting and drilling necessary. It is warning of the possibility of noise and from 10pm to 6am until Friday 25 September.
This is to allow the completion of painting and mastic application to the underside of the footbridge stairs and trestles on both sides of the station as well as the installation of high-level cable containment on both platforms and the installation of ducting on the platform stairs.
Network Rail expects the recent refurbishment to last at least 30 years and is confident that there will be no more unexpected closures.
