Artist becomes as class act in every sense after Year 4 is named after him

Sir Peter Blake has visited the children of William Hogarth School to tell them more about the artist after which their school is named. After his talk Sir Peter presented the school with one of his limited edition prints of Hogarth's pug dog

The school's link with the 18th century artist has been strong since its inception with one of its pupils unveiling the statue of the pug that stands next to its master on the High Road.

The school was founded following the demise of Hogarth School with children in the first two years only. This September there will be a new year 4 class and the school will follow in the tradition of naming it after a famous artist. Other years are named Warhol, Mondrian, Van Gogh and O'Keeffe but the new class will be Blake.
