A previous public meeting in St. Paul's Church
July 1, 2025
There is to be a change of venue for the next Chiswick Area Forum with the meeting moving from the Town Hall to St. Paul’s Church in Grove Park (W4 3SD).
The first area forum of the current municipal year and the first to be chaired by Chiswick Homefields councillor Jack Emsley is to be held on Wednesday 2 July. He is planned to host the public meetings in a range of venue around W4 during his term.
The formal meeting will begin at 7:30pm, with the agenda focussed on the local environment and ongoing issues with weed management. The meeting will have the chance to hear from, and ask questions of, senior council officers in charge of street maintenance and weeding. Jo Gilbert, founder of local wildlife charity WildChiswick, will also be present to talk about the group’s work in the local community to protect and enhance our environment.
The agenda will also feature a formal response from, and a chance to ask questions of the council about ongoing concerns around events at Gunnersbury Park. This will be followed by an open forum discussion for residents to ask questions to local councillors.
The Area Forum will be preceded, at 6:30pm, with the traditional marketplace, where residents will have a chance to speak to stallholders from various local community groups and council departments about a variety of local services and upcoming events.
“The Chiswick Area Forum is an excellent of example of local democracy in action, and this year I want to bring the forum to as many different communities in Chiswick as possible,” said Cllr Emsley.
“Both the protection and enhancement of our natural environment and ongoing challenges with weeds taking over streets rank highly as issues we deal with every day as Chiswick Councillors, so I’m delighted to be able to give space to properly ask questions and voice concerns about these areas at the meeting. A huge thanks to St Paul’s in Grove Park for giving us the space to host the first of this year’s Area Forum meetings, and I look forward to taking the meeting across Chiswick and reaching every corner of our community.”
