Final Push for West Mid's New Diagnostic and Treatment Centre
Local community called on to support fund raising efforts

The final fundraising stretch for West Middlesex University Hospital’s new Diagnostic, Treatment and Education Centre (DTEC) is being entered.
Due to open its doors in early 2027, the state-of-the-art facility will transform care for thousands of patients receiving cancer, kidney, and diagnostic services. While NHS funding is covering the core construction, CW+, the official charity of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is running the Hospital Next Door campaign to raise £1.5 million to enhance the Centre beyond standard provision. These funds will provide specialist medical equipment, dedicated staff wellbeing spaces, and therapeutic, nature-inspired design features aimed at creating a welcoming, healing environment.
Former patient Sally Smith, who also serves as Chief Operating Officer of West London Chambers, is among those passionately backing the appeal.
"West Mid has played an important part in my life," said Sally. "Two of my children were born there, and the hospital also saved my life, so I know first-hand just how important it is to local people. It’s wonderful to see this new Centre taking shape – I know it will make a real difference to patients for years to come. Supporting the CW+ Hospital Next Door campaign is a chance for residents and businesses to give something back and play a part in the future of their local hospital."
As the campaign nears its goal, organizers are offering supporters a unique way to be recognized within the building's permanent fabric. Donors contributing £250 or more can have their name—or that of a loved one—engraved on the Centre’s Founders' Wall. Contributions under £250 will be commemorated on a virtual wall on the CW+ website.
Chloe Roberts, Public Fundraising Manager at CW+, highlighted that this final phase represents a crucial opportunity for the community to get involved. "Every donation, whatever the amount, will help us create the best possible environment for the thousands of people who will use this new Centre in the years ahead," Roberts noted, inviting local groups, businesses, and individuals to help the project reach its full potential.
