Hounslow Council has launched a major engagement drive inviting families to share their experiences of children’s services, as part of a national programme aimed at improving early support for young people.
The initiative forms part of the Families First Partnership Programme, a nationwide effort to ensure councils are providing the right help at the right time, particularly for children and families who may need support before issues escalate.
Two surveys are now open to residents — one designed for young people who have used children’s services, and another for adults. All responses will remain anonymous. The surveys are available until Saturday 31 January via the council’s Let’s Talk Hounslow platform.
Council officers say the feedback will play a central role in shaping how services are delivered in the future. Residents’ insights will help identify what is working well, highlight areas for improvement, and ensure that support is designed around the real needs of families.
Hounslow Council is particularly keen to gather views from anyone with direct experience of the borough’s children’s services, including:
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills & Employment, urged families to take part.
“Listening to children, young people and families is essential to making sure our services truly meet their needs,” she said. “By sharing their experiences, residents will help us build earlier, more joined‑up support that makes a real difference at the right time. I would encourage all families and young people who have engaged with children’s services to take advantage of this opportunity to shape the future of children’s services in Hounslow.”
Residents can complete the surveys online, and physical copies are also available at Hounslow’s Community Hubs and Libraries for those who prefer to take part in person.
